Amazon Echo Dot for Whole-House Audio
One of my favorite Christmas presents this year was the Amazon Echo Dot because it totally supercharged my home audio system! I've used Bluetooth and Chromecast Audio to play music from my Spotify app, but Echo is a million times better. Not only does it respond to voice commands, it also connects directly to Spotify so it plays my playlists even if my phone is off.
It also supports INSTEON for home automation (“Alexa, turn off the Kitchen lights”) but I'll be enabling that skill in a future video.
For $20 over the cost of Chromecast Audio, this little baby is a bargain and the upgrade was really trivial. This video shows how I did it.
