Nanoleaf Permanent Outdoor Lights

In 2024, Nanoleaf introduced their version of permanent outdoor lights to compete with Govee's Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro.

The lights themselves are very similar: they have an RGB chip in the middle surrounded by 3 warm white LEDs and 3 cool white LEDs.

However, the real innovation of Nanoleaf Permanent Outdoor Lights is the installation method.

With Govee, each light has a peel-n-stick back to hold them “permanently” in place. Unfortunately, the adhesive often doesn't stick forever and the lights begin to fall within a year unless you add supplemental clips to hold the wires.

Each Nanoleaf light has a removable, peel-n-stick clip on the back of each light puck. The adhesive, although just as strong as Govee's, is only needed to hold them during installation. The clips have holes to permanently mount them with stainless steel screws.

The best feature, however, are the wire covers included in the Nanoleaf kit.

My biggest pet peeve with Govee-style lights is the visible wires. They're never straight, no matter how tightly you attach the lights.

My OCD doesn't like visible wires. That's why I installed a professional product called Bright Home Lights on my house. No visible wires!

Nanoleaf's wire covers are a good compromise for folks who can't afford, or don't value, professional lights.
